Sarah Zahr is a public health nutritionist with over six years of experience specializing in childhood overweight and obesity prevention through public health research, strategic advocacy, and policy support. Her extensive work with UNICEF and other international organizations encompasses comprehensive landscape analyses, case studies, and approaches to strengthen synergies between nutrition and social protection across low, middle and high-income countries. She has made significant contributions to UNICEF’s rapidly growing global portfolio on childhood overweight and obesity prevention, including contributing to the Child Nutrition Report 2025. Her work in advocacy includes organizing and facilitating youth dialogues and high-level meetings that promote healthier food environments, shifting narratives from individual responsibility to systemic change. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, she holds a master’s degree in public health nutrition from the American University of Beirut and is fluent in English and Arabic.
