Food insecurity has become one of the greatest challenges facing workplaces globally. In addition, undernutrition, malnutrition and obesity have all become a major problem for workers, the businesses employing them, and hindering overall economic productivity.
Governments, communities and development partners throughout Asia and the Pacific are working towards addressing multiple challenges relating to nutrition in workplaces: lack of micronutrient supplementation, unhealthy canteens, poor nutritional environments and lack of nutrition counselling
Recognizing the crucial role employers play in ensuring food security in the workforce, and the potential for positive impact from workplace nutrition interventions, Dikoda is working with partners and collaborators in Asia and
the Pacific on:
- Maternal nutrition guidance and advocacy for UNICEF Bangladesh
- Technical assistance on social and behavioural change strategy and evidence generation to Sequa for a cash intervention targeting garment workers in Myanmar
- Development of recommendations and policies for all forms of malnutrition in the Pacific for UNICEF Pacific
