Expanding Horizons: Dikoda’s Strategic Move into WASH to Strengthen Nutrition, Climate Resilience, and Maternal Nutrition
To address the urgent challenges of all forms of malnutrition
We bridge the gap between evidence and impact with expert nutrition research and technical assistance across WASH, food systems, and broader social determinants of malnutrition for international development partners.
Our evidence-based, culturally relevant research drives real-world results.
Dikoda specialises in solving critical nutrition challenges through research and technical assistance in food systems, WASH, and the broader social determinants of malnutrition. We work with partners to connect and interpret existing data – linking program data, surveys, and research to build a clearer, more useful evidence base. When current sources fall short, we collect the right data to fill the gaps.
When you need reliable data, methodologically sound studies, and practical recommendations that consider local contexts, our global team of specialists delivers. We convert complex nutrition challenges into actionable insight, from maternal nutrition and urban food systems to workplace programmes and beyond.
Dikoda is proud that the majority of our researchers are women, with priority given to experts from the communities we serve. We ensure that women researchers from low and middle-income countries lead studies in their own communities. As a social enterprise, we reinvest profits into pro-bono research that addresses critical gaps in nutrition science. We’ve adopted the Trust Code for Equitable Research Partnerships because we believe in ending double standards in research. Our model centres on equitable partnerships with national institutions, community networks, and local researchers in the countries where we work – together, we share knowledge, decision-making, and benefits.
We don’t just study nutrition challenges; we implement lasting solutions. Through our work, Dikoda aims to strengthen skills and systems at all levels – from frontline workers and community data collectors to ministry staff and government partners. By tailoring training and mentoring to diverse audiences, we ensure stakeholders can design tools, collect and analyse data, and apply findings long after our work ends. When you work with Dikoda, you get expert analysis and support a model that builds local research capacity.
Dikoda partners with public and private stakeholders worldwide to address critical nutrition security challenges through holistic approaches to WASH, food systems, and social determinants of malnutrition. While our expertise is concentrated in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific, our mobile team structure allows us to deploy bespoke research capabilities wherever nutrition challenges emerge.
