Maternal nutrition is essential to human development, ensuring both mothers and children get the best start in life. Global progress to reduce malnutrition in women of reproductive age is lagging against global goals and targets (UNICEF, 2022). 800 million women suffer from malnutrition globally and 30 million low weight babies are born every year.
Governments, communities and development partners throughout Asia and the Pacific are working towards addressing various challenges relating to maternal nutrition in urban areas: access to nutritional care, poor uptake of micronutrient supplements, and sub-optimal dietary behaviours.
Dikoda is contributing our varied expertise and networks of professionals to work with partners across Asia and the Pacific on maternal nutrition; designing interventions, enhancing and evaluating impact. Our projects and collaborations include technical assistance on:
- Maternal nutrition guidance and advocacy for UNICEF Bangladesh
- Social and behavioral change strategy and evidence generation for Sequa on a cash
