Jeremy Colin has a professional background in environmental health and worked in UK local government before specialising in water and sanitation for lower-income countries. Following full-time contracts in Pakistan (as Director of an NGO specialising in sanitation) and Zambia (as WaterAid’s adviser to a government water supply, sanitation and hygiene promotion programme) he became an independent WASH specialist in 1998. Since then, he has undertaken assignments for a range of multilateral, bilateral, private sector and NGO clients, particularly in the areas of programme design (with an increasing focus on climate resilience), monitoring and evaluation; project management and technical assistance; policy and strategy development; sector reform and decentralisation; operational research and documentation; and strengthening service delivery to the poor.
