Climate change is a defining challenge of our time – and its impacts on food security and nutrition are already being felt across all regions of the world. Extreme weather events, disrupted food production, and changing dietary patterns all pose risks to vulnerable populations, with women and children especially affected. Governments, communities, and development partners are increasingly focused on understanding and addressing the complex intersection of climate change and nutrition: building climate-resilient food systems, protecting the nutrition of the most vulnerable, and ensuring nutrition is integrated across climate policies and response strategies.
Dikoda is contributing to this growing body of work through technical support, research, and strategic partnerships. Our contributions include:
- Regional research for WFP on climate and nutrition nexus, mapping climate pathways and proposing integration strategies for nutrition in anticipatory action.
- Research for Save the Children Pacific on the impact of climate change on nutritional outcomes for children under 5 in Melanesia to inform targeted interventions.
- Support to Mercy Corps in Kenya on resilience monitoring and understanding household vulnerability to climate shocks and their impact on nutrition and food security.
